Tokyo-inspired dining, distilled into pixels

Hikari needed a web presence that felt as refined as its menu — slow-burn animations, dark aesthetic, and editorial photography that makes every visitor feel the atmosphere before they even book a table.

Hikari Modern Restaurant — web design

Web presence — Tokyo-Inspired, 2025

Brief

Minimalism with depth

We built a motion-rich website that channels the precision of Japanese design. Every interaction — hover states, page transitions, scroll reveals — was designed to feel like the restaurant itself: unhurried, precise, and deeply considered.

The brief was clear: the website should be something guests look forward to visiting again, not just a functional booking page. We treated the digital presence as an extension of the dining experience itself.

Motion Design

Every frame earns its place

We used GSAP for all animations, with careful attention to easing curves and timing. Nothing moves fast. The animations breathe — following the rhythm of a restaurant where precision and patience are both virtues.

The hero section uses a layered parallax that creates depth without distraction. Menu items reveal with a staggered fade that guides the eye naturally down the page.

Outcome

A digital presence that communicates Hikari's identity as clearly as the interior design does. Guests arrive already primed for the experience — bookings increased and average spend per visit followed.
